Scope of Practice

As a Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC), I provide support and education for normal lactation and breastfeeding concerns. I do not diagnose medical conditions or replace clinical lactation care provided by an IBCLC or physician.

If I observe signs that indicate a need for advanced clinical evaluation — such as concerns related to weight gain, complex supply disorders, suspected oral restrictions, or medical complications — I will refer you to an IBCLC or medical provider while continuing to support you emotionally and practically.

Collaborative care leads to better outcomes. Your safety and your baby’s wellbeing always come first.
